"Invasion of the Scream Queens" Hits DVD for the First Time!
Add to favorites

It's difficult to believe that it has been 20 years since the original release of Donald Farmer's Invasion of the Scream Queens, a documentary featuring interviews with the women who've made their careers starring in B-movie horror flicks and also featuring a number of clips from a wide variety of those films that remain beloved by fans of B-movies.

To celebrate this 20th Anniversary, Wild Eye Releasing is releasing for the first time ever on DVD a special 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition of Farmer's film and, quite honestly, I can't imagine a B-movie devotee who wouldn't want this quality film in a high quality package.

Directed by cult horror icon Donald Farmer, of such films as Demon Queen and Savage Vengeance, Invasion of the Scream Queens features interviews with such horror divas as Brinke Stevens (Bloody Mary 3D), Mary Woronov (The Devil's Rejects, House of the Devil), Melissa Moore (Sorority House Massacre 2), and Michelle Bauer (Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers) among quite a few others.

This special DVD also includes a 2013 interview with Farmer himself along with deleted and extended interviews from the original production, and an excerpt featuring Linnea Quigley from the out-of-print book of the same name that started it all.

Invasion of the Scream Queens is definitely more of an insiders' documentary, a "talking head" styled documentary that truly gives you the inside stories on some of B-movie history's most infamous and famous feature films. There are times in the film that you'll find yourself mumbling "that's exactly how I pictured her" and there will be other times when you may find yourself more than a little surprised.

Invasion of the Scream Queens is available beginning June 17th and should be considered a "must see" collection if you've never seen it before. If you've actually never seen it before, there may not be a better opportunity than this one to finally add the film to your collection.
